Secure Environment

Secure, moderated web site for each school.

Each school has their own unique web site and only users registered for that particular school can gain access. Users from one school cannot gain access to another school's website.

The format for each school web site address is www.SchoolName.SchoolsOnly.co.uk

All posts are subject to profanity checks and posts may be moderated as per our Terms & Conditions

Hidden Identity

Users can choose to hide their identity.

Registration requires the entry of a desired UserId, user's name, email & class\job. Once a letter of confirmation has been posted to the school, only the UserId and email are transferred to the user's on-line profile. Any extra information added to the profile is at the user’s discretion. Although a profile is visible only to other users from the same school, users are strongly advised to refrain from adding too much personal details to their profile.

This approach gives the best of both worlds: users are verified as genuine by posting confirmation to their school but they can choose to hide their identity if they wish.

Separate Environments

Separate environment for staff & pupils.

There are two types of user accounts, Staff and Pupil. These types differ only as described below.

Forums, Blogs and Photo Galleries all contain three groups, School, Staff and Pupil. As the naming suggests, Staff have access to the Staff groups, Pupils have access to the Pupil groups and all users have access to the School groups.

Forums

Message boards for exchanging thoughts and opinions.

Forums A Forum is a grouping of related threads of discussion. Users can start new threads as well as reply to posts made by other users. User can also create polls for user voting on a chosen subject or question.

Blogs

Create your own personal journal.

Blogs

A weblog (blog) is an online journal you can use to share thoughts, ideas, gripes, opinions, or anything else you want. Blogs allow you to be a contributor rather than just a bystander.

Postings are arranged chronologically and can be categorized depending upon how the administrator has configured the system. You can view a post by clicking on the title from the home page where all users'' posts are collectively shown. Once viewing a blog you can read other posts by that person or provide comments on postings.

Creating new posts is quick and easy. If you have the ability to post you should see a link (usually on the left) on your weblog's home page: new post. Clicking on this link takes you into your blogs administration pages for creating new posts.

Users can create blogs to make school announcements and note forthcoming events.

Photo Galleries Users can upload their photos and allow others to add comments.
